The Vetiver plant is a native to the East, in particular South India. Its remarkable roots penetrate the Earth up to 4 or even 6 metres – and the plant is often used in areas of soil erosion to bond the Earth. Extracted from these roots the oil has a similar cooling and calming quality of this deep Earth. It is proven to calm anxiety and even treat symptoms of ADHD. Traditionally this somewhat unfathomable, cool, musky and earthy scent is chosen for men.
But some women love Vetiver too… If Vetiver were a woman she would be Earth Mother, She Warrior, earthed, toned and wrapped in a green veil of self-contented confidence and beauty.
